Chef Justin became interested in cooking at a very young age, growing up in a household where his father was a chef at many prestigious hotels and his mother was always coming up with new recipes in the family kitchen. When most kids were out playing baseball and football with their friends, Justin was following his father, Joseph Jr., around kitchens of hotels, imitating him and causing a ruckus. It was here where the chef was born.
After completing high school, with the support of his mother, Justin pursued the culinary field by enrolling at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, where he learned the fundamental skills of cooking and baking. After graduating college, he apprenticed at some of New York’s top restaurants honing his craft and learning all the fundamentals of working in New York City’s restaurants.
Justin continued working in the restaurant field, first as a line cook at the Highlawn Pavilion, in West Orange, New Jersey and then as a line cook at the world renowned 21 Club in New York City. There he worked his way to being one of the youngest sous chefs in 21 Club history. After spending over five years at 21 Club, Justin felt it was time to move on and challenge himself in a different part of the business. He joined the team at high end caterer, Sterling Affair, where he took on a sous chef role. There he became a member of a team that delivered elegant restaurant style food at large events and weddings for families, including the world famous Rockefellers. In addition, Chef Justin has been privileged to work with other accomplished chefs such as Marcus Samuelsson, Susur Lee, Gabrielle Hamilton and of course, Gordon Ramsay.
Chef Justin’s brother, Joseph Antiorio III, is also a chef and owns a catering company and private restaurant exclusively for the owners of the tri-state area’s top racing horses. With Justin, Joseph III, and Joseph Jr. all being chefs, every holiday turns into a competition in the kitchen – resulting in some of the most outstanding holiday dinners!
Chef Justin says, “I would not be here today without the love and support of my family.”
